There are 30 days until the Barrie Colts home opener against the Ottawa 67's! If you follow us on Instagram you have probably seen us countdown to the start of the regular season and with 30 being a pretty good number we felt we would look at a few times the number 30 has shown up in Barrie Colts history!
- Blaine Down was a +30 at the end of his rookie season in 1999-00. He finished that year with 17 goals and 22 assists for a total of 39 points.
- Hunter Tremblay scored 30 goals in the 2004-05 season. He added 32 assists for a total of 62 assists.
- Dan LaCosta wore number 30 in 2005-06. He finished the season playing 59 games, posting a record of 36-17-4 with 6 shutouts.
- T.J. Brodie joined the ponies in 2009-10 and put up 30 assists over his 46 games with the Colts. He finished the season off with 33 points.
- Darren Archibald played in 24 games in his final run with the Colts before getting moved to Niagara. In those 24 games played he put up 18 goals and 12 assists for a total of 30 points.
- Tanner Pearson played 2 seasons with the Colts. In 2012, he went on to get drafted by the Los Angeles Kings 30th overall. He has since played 30 playoff games with the Kings and totaled 5 points.
- Josh MacDonald played his second season with the Colts in 1012-13. In 66 games that year totaled 30 points with 15 goals and 15 assists.
- Aaron Ekblad was named the Colts team captain in 2013-14. That would be his last year in Barrie before going on to the Florida Panthers who had drafted him 1st overall. His 30 assists that year were the most of his OHL career. He would finish the season with 53 points.
- Justin Scott had 4 memorable seasons with the Colts but in 2014-15 he would put up his most goals with 30. He would finish the season with 53 points. Scott also played 42 playoff games as a Barrie Colt putting up 30 total points with 20 goals and 10 assists.
- Andrew Mangiapane (2014-15) and Andrew Marshall (2006-07) both totalled 30 assists in one season. That has them tied for 9th most by a Barrie Colts in a single season.
- Ryan Hamilton played 170 OHL games with the Colts. He has had an outstanding AHL career and is currently the Bakersfield Condors team captain. Though most his career has been played in the AHL, he has also played 30 games in the NHL with Edmonton and Toronto.
