The end of May means one thing here at A Very Barrie Colts Blog. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US!
It is crazy to think we have been around for 3 years but here we are! 3 years of nonsensical photoshops, game previews, season reviews, cat heads and more!
We started in 2014 with just our founder Ryan Noble who did pretty much everything. We would later bring in our good friend Chicks Dig Hockey who contributed to some memorable “Who’s your daddy?” posts which looked at OHL players with dads who played in the NHL. Later, we would add to our team by including Paul Clemente and Sebastian Jackson to the team.
We also have been allowed to display our talents by local media outlets like Rogers Barrie who had Ryan on ‘Barrie Fantasy Hockey League’ which was a NHL fantasy show which included the Colts announce team, Mike Webster, Brandon Prophet, other people who work for the Colts and some people from the network. For those who missed it, Ryan won the league. Obviously.
Luckily for Ryan, who has a face for radio, he wasn’t only shown TV love. Our friends at 104.1 The Dock have had him on their site countless times to do season recaps and reviews. 101.1 BIG FM also had Ryan on air on the BIG morning show at the end of this past season to look at the Colts year.
Basically, we are saying that we are very lucky to be a part of such a great city with a passionate hockey fanbase. Sincerely from all of us, thank you!
New season and new things!
As always, we are giving our site a face lift this offseason. The goal is to have a new, fresh look by the start of the OHL season. Our goal is something new but with aspects you are familiar with at the site over the years. We have a good chunk of it done and we really think it will be popular.
There is one more thing we will be including and though I want to spill the news, we are waiting until we have more details ironed out. This project is Sebastian’s baby and will include Ryan contributing. WE ARE EXCITED ABOUT IT! And we think you will be too!
And honestly, that is about it. We just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has made the last 3 years not only possible, but so much fun!
